Semi-Permanent Microblading and Machine Healing Stages — Day by Day
Fresh & Vivid
Your lips will appear brighter, darker and more intense than the final healed colour. Some swelling, tenderness or a feeling of tightness is completely normal immediately after treatment and should begin to settle.
Settling In
Swelling gradually reduces while the colour may remain quite vivid. Your lips may feel dry or tight as the healing process begins.
Peeling & Fading
Light peeling or flaking may begin as the surface of the lips heals. The colour can appear patchy or noticeably lighter during this stage. Allow the skin to shed naturally.
The Ghost Phase
Your lips may appear very light or seem as though much of the colour has disappeared. This is a normal stage of lip blush healing and does not mean the pigment has been lost.
Colour Returns
The colour gradually begins to re-emerge as the lips continue to heal. The final shade will be softer and more natural-looking than immediately after treatment.
True Result
Your settled, healed lip colour is now visible. This is when your FREE top-up appointment takes place — to perfect the colour, definition and any areas that may have healed lighter.
Your Results Timeline
Semi-Permanent Eyeliner Healing Stages — Day by Day
Fresh & Darker
The eyeliner will look darker, bolder and more intense than the final result. Some puffiness and tenderness around the eye area is completely normal and will settle quickly.
Settling In
The area continues to settle. The liner may still appear quite dark. Avoid all makeup in the eye area — this is crucial during the early healing phase.
Flaking Begins
Light flaking or peeling as the surface skin heals. Do not pick, rub or scratch. The colour begins to soften. This is the most important stage for aftercare compliance.
The Ghost Phase
The liner may appear very light or seem to have disappeared almost entirely. This is normal — the pigment is beneath the surface, settling in. Trust the process.
Colour Returns
The true eyeliner colour begins to re-emerge from beneath the healed skin, softer and more natural-looking than immediately after treatment.
True Result
Your settled, healed liner result is now visible. This is when your FREE top-up appointment takes place — to perfect any areas, fill gaps and make any final adjustments.

✅ Let any scabs or flaking skin fall away naturally.
✅ Avoid unnecessary touching of the treated area.
✅ Protect the area from direct sunlight and use SPF once the skin has fully healed.
✅ Attend your follow-up/top-up appointment when advised, as results may require a second session.

Semi-Permanent Makeup FAQs
What is semi-permanent makeup?
Semi-permanent makeup is a cosmetic treatment that enhances your natural features by implanting specialist pigment into the skin. We offer bespoke treatments for brows, lips and eyeliner, creating results tailored to your features and desired look.
How much does semi-permanent makeup cost?
Our semi-permanent makeup treatments start from £200. The final price depends on the treatment and technique chosen.
A complimentary top-up is included with your treatment, provided it is attended within the recommended timeframe.
How long does semi-permanent makeup last?
Semi-permanent makeup gradually fades over time rather than lasting permanently. Results can typically last around 1–3 years, depending on your skin type, lifestyle, skincare routine, aftercare and the treatment you have chosen.
Maintenance appointments can be booked when your colour has faded and you would like to refresh your results.
Does semi-permanent makeup hurt?
Everyone's pain tolerance is different, but most clients find the treatment very manageable. A topical numbing product can be used where appropriate to help keep you comfortable throughout your appointment.
You may experience some sensitivity, warmth or tenderness during and immediately after treatment.
What is included in my appointment?
Your appointment includes a consultation, personalised design and treatment, followed by detailed aftercare advice.
We take the time to assess your natural features, skin type and desired result to create a treatment that is tailored specifically to you.
Your complimentary top-up is also included, allowing us to perfect the result once your skin has healed.
Is the top-up really free?
Yes. Your complimentary top-up is included in the treatment price and is carried out once the initial treatment has healed.
The top-up gives us the opportunity to assess how your skin has healed and make any necessary adjustments to the colour, shape or definition.
The top-up must be attended within the specified timeframe. Top-ups outside this period may be chargeable.
Which brow style is right for me?
There isn't one brow style that suits everyone. Your natural brows, skin type, facial features and the result you want will all be considered during your consultation.
We offer machine brows, microblading and combination brow techniques, allowing us to create anything from soft and natural to more defined results.
Your technician will recommend the most suitable technique for your skin and desired finish.
Which brow technique is best for oily skin?
For oily skin, machine brows are generally the preferred option as the pigment tends to heal more predictably than microbladed hairstrokes.
Microblading may not be suitable for certain oily skin types because natural oils can cause individual hairstrokes to heal less crisply and soften over time.
Your skin will always be assessed during your consultation before deciding on the most suitable technique.
What is the difference between lip blush and lip filler?
Lip blush enhances the natural colour, shape and definition of your lips using semi-permanent pigment. It can create the appearance of more defined and balanced lips but does not add volume.
Lip filler is an injectable treatment used to add volume and enhance the shape of the lips.
They are completely different treatments and can sometimes be combined, provided the correct time is allowed between treatments.
What is the difference between lash enhancement and eyeliner?
Lash enhancement is a subtle treatment along the lash line that creates the appearance of fuller lashes and softly defines the eyes.
Semi-permanent eyeliner creates a more noticeable and defined line and can be tailored to your preferred look.
During your consultation, we can discuss which option will best suit your eyes and the result you want to achieve.
How long does the healing process take?
The main healing period is usually around 7–14 days, although the colour can continue to settle and develop for several weeks.
Immediately after treatment, the pigment may appear darker or more intense than your final result. The treated area may also experience some dryness, flaking or light scabbing as it heals.
It is important not to pick, scratch or peel the area and to follow your aftercare instructions carefully.
Who may not be suitable for semi-permanent makeup?
Semi-permanent makeup isn't suitable for everyone. Treatment may need to be postponed or declined if you have an active infection, cold sore, rash, broken or irritated skin in the treatment area, certain medical conditions, or are taking medication that may affect healing.
A full consultation and suitability assessment will be carried out before your treatment. If you are unsure whether you are suitable, please get in touch before booking.
